The MEGA Program Application Process
Selection for the MEGA Program is merit-based and open to anyone who meets the following requirements:
- Russian Youth 18-22 years old;
- Active citizen journalist, young professional journalist, and/or student of journalism;
- Demonstrate their achievements and interest in media;
- Available to travel to the United States for 4 weeks from July 11 — August 8, 2020
- Fluent in English.
All the requirements of the program are strict. Your application may be rejected if you do not meet any of the requirements mentioned above.
The selection process for the MEGA Program consists of two equal parts: (1) your electronic application and (2) online interview with selected semi-finalists.
During the first step of the selection process you will have to record a video that covers the following topic: “What is Media Literacy and My Role in Journalism” in English and include the link to it.

Also you have to upload two letters of recommendation.
Media Exchange for Global Achievement Program (MEGA) is aimed to give youth journalists an opportunity to gain a better understanding of diverse media outlets and the role of media in the United States through a series of site visits, workshops, seminars and hands-on activities.
The Selection Process
The first step of the application process is to complete the application form. Please do not forget to include: (1) one recommendation letter from your university instructor and one recommendation letter from your extracurricular supervisor or employer and (2) your international passport.
All applicants are asked to record a video on the following topic: “What is Media Literacy and My Role in Journalism”. Please develop your media product in English.
If you are selected as a semi-finalist for the MEGA Program, you will be interviewed by the selection committee.
